This is a local South Carolina DSS Office.
You can apply at this office or go online to: SCMAPP.sc.gov.
SCMAPP is an online application for South Carolinians to apply for many health and human service programs.

Households, individuals, seniors and the homeless may all be eligible for SNAP bene?ts.
People who are working and need help to stretch their income to purchase food may also be eligible for SNAP bene?ts as well as those receiving Social Security bene?ts, child support or unemployment.
DSS administers the SNAP program through DSS county of?ces.
Eligibility caseworkers interview applicants and approve those who qualify to receive the food bene?t.
Quali?ed applicants for the SNAP program begin receiving SNAP bene?ts within 30 days of their application.
Some families and individuals need expedited bene?ts, which begin within seven days of application.
Once household eligibility is determined, your approved food stamp benefits will be deposited into an account each month.
The account is accessed by using an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.
The EBT card acts as a debit card.
Each time you use your card, your account will be reduced by the cost of the groceries you buy.

I kept trying to update my food stamp information but no one is answering the telephone and I cannot get online! I would like to know why was my SNAP food stamp turned off and I'm making less money now on my disability.

I WENT TO THE OFFICE.. I am not normally the type to complain, however, there were 8 people in the building at the time and one lady talking to a citizen. After 20 minutes and no movement at the window and several folks waiting, I had to leave because I didn't have the hours necessary to wait. The folks at the other windows never looked up. I have been waiting several months to ask for help since I felt there were many others who might have needed help more than me. I am 80 years old and need to find a way to get some assistance without waiting for hours.
