If your household's income is low and you need immediate help, contact the welfare office.
After you have submitted your application, an interview will be scheduled.
During your interview, your caseworker will explain the rules of the program and help you fill in your application if necessary.
During the interview process, your case officer will also ask you to provide proof of certain information.
It is important that you understand the rules, so don't hesitate to ask your employee to explain anything you don't understand.
At the end of the interview, the Nursing Office will notify you by letter of your qualifying status, and after approving the monthly amount of SNAP benefits you will receive and how many months of benefits you are eligible for before you have to reapply.
If you qualify for SNAP benefits, you will receive your Electronic Transfer of Benefits card together with the approved monthly benefit amount no later than 30 working days from the date the application is received by the office.
If you and the person you live with are applying for or receiving Supplemental Security Income benefits, except in California people receiving SSI receive cash in lieu of SNAP benefits, the SNAP at your local Social Security office You can apply for benefits.
