Cut Bank Field Office Details

The mission of the Human and Community Services Division of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is to support the strengths of families and communities by promoting employment and providing the necessary assistance to help families and individuals meet their basic needs and lift themselves out of poverty.


Cash assistance is funded by a federal block grant called Temporary Assistance to Needy Families.
The scheme provides monthly payments to low-income families and children who meet income and resource standards.
The work readiness component provides employment and training services to individuals receiving cash assistance.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program SNAP, formerly the Food Stamp Program provides eligible families with benefits to increase their food budget and improve their ability to purchase healthy food.
A SNAP Nutrition Education, run in collaboration with Montana State University, teaches participants to use the benefits of meal vouchers wisely.
