Del Norte County Social Services Branch Details

CalFresh (formerly Food Stamps) helps low-income individuals/household purchase nutritious food at authorized grocery stores and other retailers. Alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, pet food, vitamins, medicines, paper products, and other non-food products cannot be purchased. 

Eligibility:

Proof of Citizenship and/or Residency is required. All U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Resident children may qualify to receive CalFresh benefits, regardless of where their parents were born.

Note:

CalFresh benefits are issued on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card which looks just like a credit card. The amount of benefits depends on household size, income, monthly expenses, and other items.
