Hamilton Field Office Details
The mission of the Human and Community Services Division of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is to support the strengths of families and communities by promoting employment and providing the necessary assistance to help families and individuals meet basic needs and escape poverty.
The department provides cash assistance, vocational training, additional nutritional assistance, Medicaid, childcare, meal reimbursement, nutritional training, energy assistance, weatherization, and other services to help families get out of poverty and toward self-help.
The majority of the children were from low-income families and mean maternal schooling was 6.9 years. As to whether CAP had prevented the imposition of employment conditions on individuals receiving social assistance, the Plan had set reasonable requirements concerning work availability, such as the requirement to seek work and to accept suitable work.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program provides benefits for eligible families to supplement their food budgets and increase their ability to purchase healthy food.
A SNAP Nutrition Education, conducted jointly with Montana State University, teaches participants how to take advantage of their food brand.
