My husband had to drop off papers for my aunt in the Ashland office today and to say the woman working the front desk was rude is an understatement. Not one time did she bother to look up from the game she was playing on her phone, but when he asked for a receipt, she refused to give him one, told him to put the papers in an envelope and stick them in the box. Generally, a receipt wouldn't be needed, but because of a mistake on their part, my aunt lost her food stamps and has been bringing them papers to be reinstated. We dropped off what they asked for last week and that still wasn't good enough so more had to be taken in today. If she doesn't want to do her job, she doesn't need to be there.
I previously worked, years ago, at the SNAP office and the Division of Permanency and Protection in Greenup County Ky. If we would have been as rude as the workers are today we would’ve been out of a job. I’m primarily referring to the SNAP ( what we called Food-stamp) office. I received benefits for the first time in my life recently and couldn’t believe how rude the workers were and evidently are allowed to be today.
