    The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is a federally funded program that offers food assistance to millions of eligible individuals and low-income families.
    The largest quality assessment program in the world
    The intent of the SNAP program is to help improve the health and well-being of low-income families and individuals by providing them with a means to meet their nutritional needs.
    They are not designed to meet all nutritional needs of a household or an individual.
    Using other resources, such as food larders and WIC, in addition to SNAP, will help stretch your home food budgets.

    Determination of eligibility and issuance of benefits is done through the DHS and AAA offices in the state.

    Benefits are distributed through the state's Electronic Benefits Transfer system, which allows people to access benefits at grocery store point-of-sale machines using an Oregon Trail Card.
