Plumas County Department of Social Services Details
The federally known Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is known in California as the CalFresh program. The CalFresh program assists low-income individuals/families in purchasing nutritious food at authorized grocery stores and other retailers. Alcoholic beverages, tobacco, paper products and other non-food items cannot be purchased with the CalFresh benefit.
The amount of benefit received varies according to the number of individuals in household, income, expenses and others.
All U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Resident children may qualify to receive the CalFresh benefit.
