Shelby Field Office Details
The mission of the Montana Department of Health and Human Services' Division of Human and Community Services is to support the strengths of families and communities by promoting employment and providing families and individuals with the support they need to meet their basic needs and move out of poverty.
The Division provides cash assistance, job training, supplementary food assistance previously food stamps, medical assistance, child care, reimbursements for food, nutrition training, energy assistance, meteorological assistance and other services to help families get out of poverty and move towards self-sufficiency.
The cash aid is funded by a federal subsidy unit called Temporary Assistance to Needy Families TANF.
The majority of the children were from low-income families and mean maternal schooling was 6.9 years.
