Temporary food assistance to low-income households and individuals eligible for the Food Assistance Program is provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture It is provided by the Ministry.
Eligibility is based on the financial situation of all members of a household.
Anyone who lives together and buys and prepares food together is considered to be a member of the same household group.
In general, we will look at your expenses, assets and income to determine what benefits, if any, you may be entitled to. Application ProcedureYou must complete and submit an application to determine if you can get help, such as food, health care, child care, temporary cash, emergency care, etc., through MDHHS.
When you submit your application, you may be required to provide information about all members of your household.
The best way to determine eligibility and apply is online using MI Bridges. Applications can be hand-delivered, sent or faxed to our local office.
Customers are issued Michigan Bridge cards to purchase certain food and access cash perks at a number of retailers and ATMs across the state.
