Nutrition Assistance formerly known as Food Stamps is Arizona's federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. - The goal of Nutrition Assistance is to help low income families provide adequate nutrition to their families.
You do not have to have children to get Nutrition Assistance.
If you would like, you can apply for SNAP online at: https://www.healthearizonaplus.gov.- Food assistance programs available through the Department of Economic Security and its community programs increase food security and reduce hunger by providing children and low-income individuals with access to nutritious food.
- Those programs include:
Nutrition Assistance (NA): Through DES' Nutrition Assistance Program, thousands of Arizonans are able to provide adequate nutrition for their families. - Eligibility for benefits is based on resources, income and other requirements such as residence, citizenship or eligible non-citizen status, and cooperation with the Department of Economic Security employment and training program.
- Coordinated Hunger Relief Program: The program is responsible for coordinating with various federal, state, and local organizations that provide food assistance to the hungry and contracts with various hunger organizations to maximize resources.
- Among the services provided are Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) outreach, food bank coordination, food boxes, commodities, coordination in rescuing produce that otherwise would go to waste (also called gleaning), and making available information on where to obtain food when in need.
- The Emergency Food Assistance Program: TEFAP is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost.
- Under TEFAP, the U.S.
