TAD Office - Yucca Valley Details
CalFresh, (formerly known as food stamps), is known federally as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. This program provides food assistance to low income families. Individuals must apply for this program and provide all the required supporting documentation.
If approved, individuals will receive a monthly electronic benefit on an EBT Card, which is similar to a debit card, and can be used to purchase food items at authorized grocery stores and other retailers. The amount of benefit will depend on number or individuals living in household, monthly expenses, and other relevant factors.
CalFresh benefits cannot be used to purchase:
- Non-food items such as pet food; soaps, paper products, household supplies; grooming items and cosmetics
- Alcoholic beverages or tobacco products
- Vitamins and medicines
- Any food that will be eaten in the store
- Any food marketed to be heated in the store

please call me about snap app. I waited on phone for over an hour.
I have spent 4 hours on the phone, most of the time on hold; the few minutes that I had a person on the phone I was verbally abused and hung up on. I do not know if these people are trained to mistreat people in need or if sadism is a job requirement. I will take none of it and will request an admin hearing if necessary. I called, to begin with, because I was told I would receive a call from SB county. No one called. I recieved a letter with an appointment (appointments are made WITH ME not FOR ME!) One, in response to my application I was informed that I would have a phone interview. Two, I do not have the resources to go to an appointment. Three, over the phone my assigned worker treated me in an unacceptable manner. I will not take abuse. I need a call from a supervisor right away.
